This guide covers the best AI agents for Indian startups in 2026, with prices in rupees wherever vendors publish them. It’s grouped by the job you need done: building product, talking to customers on calls and WhatsApp, managing sales, and handling support. At the end there are two sample stacks, one for a solo founder and one for a small seed-stage team.
A quick note on pricing before we start. AI pricing changes often, and many tools still bill in dollars. Where a price is in USD, we’ve shown an approximate rupee figure and said so. Always check the final price at checkout.
How to read the prices in this guide
Three things affect what you’ll actually pay in India.
GST. Most software is subject to 18% GST. Prices bought through the Indian App Store usually include it. Prices on vendor websites often don’t. If your startup is GST-registered, you can usually claim it back as input tax credit.
Dollar billing. Tools that charge in USD can add a 2–3.5% foreign currency markup on your card, depending on your bank. A $20 plan rarely costs exactly ₹20 × the exchange rate.
Usage-based pricing. Voice and WhatsApp agents are mostly priced per minute, per conversation or per credit. The monthly fee is often the smaller part of the bill. Estimate your volume before you compare.
1. General-purpose and coding agents
These are the AI assistants your team uses every day for writing, research, analysis and code. All three below now include agentic features, such as running multistep tasks, browsing, or working directly in a codebase.
ChatGPT (OpenAI)
OpenAI has priced ChatGPT aggressively for India. ChatGPT Go costs ₹399 a month, a plan built for markets like India, and it accepts UPI. ChatGPT Plus is ₹1,999 a month. Both prices include GST when bought through the App Store, according to price trackers checked in October 2026.
Best for: founders and early teams who want one tool for writing, research and light automation. Go is the cheapest serious AI subscription available in India right now.
Claude (Anthropic)
Claude Pro is ₹1,999 a month, or ₹19,900 a year (about ₹1,658 a month) on the Indian App Store. Pro includes access to Claude Code, Anthropic’s coding agent, which works directly in your codebase: reading files, planning changes, running tests and fixing what fails. Heavy users can move to Max at ₹12,900 or ₹24,900 a month.
Best for: technical founders and small engineering teams who want a coding agent without a separate developer tool subscription.
Google AI Pro (Gemini)
Google AI Pro costs ₹1,950 a month and bundles Gemini’s advanced features with 5 TB of Google storage. There’s also Google AI Plus at ₹399 a month with 400 GB of storage.
Best for: startups already running on Google Workspace, since Gemini works across Gmail, Docs and Drive.
2. App-building agents
Emergent
Emergent is an AI agent that builds full apps from a description, and part of its team is based in Bengaluru. It’s credit-based: Free gives 10 credits a month, Standard is $20 a month (about ₹1,920) for 100 credits, and Pro is $200 a month (about ₹19,200) for 750 credits. Deploying an app to Emergent’s cloud costs 50 credits per app per month, according to third-party breakdowns.
Emergent doesn’t publish an official rupee price list, so expect your bank’s conversion rate plus any forex markup.
Best for: non-technical founders building an MVP or internal tool before hiring engineers. Watch your credit usage closely, because complex apps can use up a Standard plan quickly.
3. Voice agents that speak Indian languages
This is where India-built tools clearly beat global ones. An English-only voice agent doesn’t help much if your customers are in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
Bolna
Bolna is a Bengaluru-based, Y Combinator-backed voice AI platform founded in 2024 by Maitreya Wagh and Prateek Sachan. It supports 10+ Indian languages including Hindi, Hinglish, Tamil and Telugu, and lists customers including Physics Wallah, GoKwik, Spinny and Awign.
Pricing: pay-as-you-go from 6¢ a minute (about ₹5.52), dropping to about 4.5¢ (around ₹4.15) on larger top-ups. Telephony and a platform fee are added on top. New accounts get $5 in free credits. Bolna also offers pilot packs, such as $300 for 6,500 minutes.
Best for: startups that need outbound or inbound calling at scale: lead qualification, COD confirmations, reminders and follow-ups.
Ringg AI
Ringg AI charges ₹6 per connected minute with telephony included, plus ₹499 a month for a phone number. It supports 20+ languages and offers free credits on sign-up, according to MyOperator’s 2026 pricing comparison.
Best for: teams that want simple, all-in rupee pricing without managing their own telephony.
Sarvam Samvaad
Sarvam AI, one of India’s best-known AI companies, has been running its Samvaad voice agent platform for enterprises such as Tata Capital. In June 2026, Inc42 reported that Sarvam plans to open Samvaad to the public with self-serve sign-up and a free tier. Public pricing hadn’t been announced at the time, so join the waitlist if Indian-language voice quality is your top priority.

4. WhatsApp AI agents
For many Indian startups, WhatsApp is the main customer channel. These platforms add AI chatbots on top of WhatsApp Business messaging. Remember that Meta’s per-conversation charges come on top of every plan below.
Tool | Starting price | AI add-on | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
AiSensy | ₹1,500/month (Basic, up to 6 users) | ₹2,000–2,500/month | Broadcast-first, good for marketing campaigns |
Interakt | ₹3,499/quarter (Starter) | ~₹10,000/month | Owned by Jio Haptik |
Gallabox | From ₹2,999/month | Varies | Strong for sales and support teams |
Prices as reported in MyOperator’s October 2026 comparison. Check each vendor’s site before buying.
Best for: D2C brands, edtech, healthcare and service businesses that handle orders, bookings or support on WhatsApp.
5. CRM with built-in AI agents
Zoho CRM (with Zia)
Zoho is Indian-founded, priced in rupees, and has its AI assistant Zia and Zia Agents built into the platform. Zoho CRM’s India pricing, checked in August 2026 and excluding GST:
Edition | Per user/month (annual) | Per user/month (monthly) |
|---|---|---|
Free | ₹0 (up to 3 users) | ₹0 |
Standard | ₹800 | ₹1,300 |
Professional | ₹1,400 | ₹2,100 |
Enterprise | ₹2,400 | ₹3,000 |
Ultimate | ₹2,600 | ₹3,200 |
AI features vary by edition, so check which Zia capabilities are included in the plan you’re considering before you commit.
Best for: startups that want CRM, email and AI in one ecosystem without paying in dollars.
6. Customer support agents
Freshdesk with Freddy AI Agent
Freshworks was founded in Chennai, and its Freddy AI Agent handles customer queries across chat and email. On Freshworks’ global pricing page, Growth costs $19 per agent a month (billed annually) and includes the first 500 Freddy AI Agent sessions. Additional sessions are $49 per 100. Pro is $55 and Enterprise is $89 per agent a month.
Freshworks didn’t show rupee pricing on the pages we could access, so confirm local pricing with their sales team.
Best for: startups with a growing support queue across email and chat that want AI to resolve repeat questions before a person steps in.
7. When you’re bigger: enterprise conversational AI
Haptik (owned by Reliance Jio), Yellow.ai and Gupshup power conversational AI for large Indian brands and support 20 to 100+ languages. They usually price through sales, with setup periods of four to twelve weeks. Third-party estimates put Haptik around $5,000 a year and up. Gupshup’s base pricing starts around ₹4,000 a month plus messaging fees.
For most early-stage startups these are overkill. Revisit them once you’re handling thousands of conversations a day.

Two sample AI agent stacks
These are examples to show how costs add up, not recommendations for every business.
Solo founder, pre-revenue (about ₹3,500 a month):
Claude Pro or ChatGPT Plus for writing, research and code: ₹1,999
Zoho CRM Free for up to 3 users: ₹0
AiSensy Basic for WhatsApp updates: ₹1,500
Seed-stage team of five, with customers (roughly ₹25,000–40,000 a month, depending on usage):
ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro for the five team members: about ₹10,000
Zoho CRM Standard for 3 sales users (annual): ₹2,400, plus GST
WhatsApp AI with an AI add-on: about ₹4,000–5,000, plus Meta conversation fees
A voice agent for 2,000 minutes of calls a month: about ₹10,000–12,000
The voice line is the one that grows fastest with volume, so set a usage cap early.

How to choose the right AI agent for your startup
Price matters, but it shouldn’t be the first filter. Ask these questions first:
Which channel do your customers actually use? If it’s WhatsApp or phone calls in regional languages, start there, not with a general chatbot.
Is it priced in rupees or dollars? Rupee billing with UPI avoids forex markups and makes GST credits easier.
What happens at 10x volume? Per-minute and per-session pricing can be cheap at pilot scale and expensive later.
Where is the data stored? If you handle customer data, check data residency and how the agent accesses your systems.
Can you start free? Bolna, Ringg AI, Zoho CRM and Emergent all offer free tiers or credits. Test with real conversations before paying.
