About this agent

Jobscan is a resume checker built around one question: how well does your resume match this particular job? You paste in your resume and a job description, and it returns a match score, the keywords and skills you are missing, and formatting problems that could trip up an applicant tracking system.

Over time it has grown into a wider job-search toolkit with an AI resume builder, cover letter tools, LinkedIn optimization and a job tracker, but the match report is still the core of it.

How it works

  1. Upload or paste your resume.

  2. Paste the job description you are applying for.

  3. Jobscan scans both and returns a match rate with keyword and skills gaps and ATS formatting checks.

  4. Edit your resume to close the gaps, then rescan.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • A clear, per-job match report that tells you exactly which keywords to add.

  • A long-established brand in resume scanning.

  • Extras like LinkedIn optimization, a resume builder and a job tracker.

Cons

  • It only works on your resume. It does not find jobs or apply for you.

  • The free plan allows only a small number of scans.

  • Tailoring one resume per job is manual, and chasing keywords blindly can lead to stuffing.
